How to Get to Jiuzhaigou — Flights or Trains from Chengdu
When planning a tour, you need to know how to get to your destination. There are no direct international flights to the scenic areas. You will need to get to Chengdu first.
Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan Province and also the gateway to Jiuzhaigou. There are flights and also high-speed trains from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou.
Taking a high-speed train is recommended to get from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. Jiuzhigou has three train stations:
- Huanglong Jiuzhai Station: We recommend using this as it is the nearest station to Jiuzhigou, about a 1.5-hour drive to reach the valley. The journey takes about 2 hours.
- Songpan Station: It is the second recommendation, about a 1.5 to 2-hour journey from Chengdu. From the station, it's approximately a 2.5-hour drive to Jiuzhaigou.
- Huangshengguan Station: It is the third recommendation, about 2 to 2.5 hours from Chengdu. You may need a 2-hour drive from there to Jiuzhaigou.
You could also choose to take a plane. Flying could be faster but also a little bit expensive.
